Without any doubt, "El Torcal de Antequera" is one of the most unusual and extraordinary landscapes of Andalusia. It is a karst region, hardly hit by the forces of wind and water, which carved the sandstone through millions and millions of years to fabulous and grotesque forms that make our fantasy travel. Here you can see the famous forms of "the Screw" and "the Mushroom", which were cataloged by the Andalusian Government Junta de Andalucía as "natural monuments”. This whole region has a peculiar fauna and flora, which we will discovered during our walk and if we are lucky we might even see the famous “cabras monteses” – the Spanish ibex that inhabit the cliffs of the area. The route has no difficulty suitable for all public. Depending on the weather and the itinerary and time of the group we can organize hiking tours from around 30 minutes to 4 hours. This activity is usually combined with a visit to the city of Antequera, the Laguna de Fuente de Piedra and / or the “Refugio del Burro” – a refuge for originally mistreated and abandoned donkeys, which were rescued and recovered in this facility, living a happyend. |
